PayPal to lay off 2,000 employees in global job cuts

PayPal will be laying off 2,000 employees as part of global job cuts.

The fintech company will be slashing 7% of its total workforce around the world. PayPal employs over 2,000 people in Ireland but it is yet unclear how the Irish staff will be affected by the announcement.

The company slashed around 300 jobs from its offices in Dundalk and Dublin last year. In a message to staff, PayPal president and CEO Dan Schulman said the jobs will be cut within weeks with some departments impacted more than others.
