People who claim a range of benefits including Universal Credit, PIP, ESA and JSA will see their payment date change in August.
The August bank holiday means claimants will likely receive their payments on different dates this month. Fortunately, payments will likely be received earlier, rather than later.
Those who receive their payments on August 29 will receive the money on August 26, a whole three days earlier, Lancs Live reports. It comes after the government announced the details surrounding the upcoming winter £400 energy grant as well as the distribution of the first half of the cost of living payment.

Here's a breakdown of how your benefits may be affected by the August bank holiday and when you'll be paid this month:
How your benefits will be paid over the August bank holiday
If you are set to receive your benefit payment on August 29, you will instead get the money on the last working day before the bank holiday. Therefore, you should receive the money on Friday, August 26.
The amount of money you receive will not be affected by the date change and will be paid into your bank, building society or credit union account as per usual. Depending on what type of benefit you claim, you will get paid in different intervals.
