Pauline Hanson has knits

The bunker has long followed the fundraising and merch exploits of Pauline Hanson’s website.

Whether you’re shelling out $150 for a poster of her washing Australian flags, you want a T-shirt that tells everyone you’re proud of your Aussie heritage (made in Bangladesh), or you just want to choose how much you give her to bravely stop “definitely about to happen” things like white potatoes being renamed, the grift never rests.

So maybe we should’ve been more prepared for the latest drop from the Hanson camp. And yet, no.

Yep, Hanson is (predictably) using the lawsuit launched against her by Greens Senator Mehreen Faruqi as a fundraiser. Less predictably, she’s doing that by selling retina-staining dayglo knitwear that she herself apparently made and models on the website, with all the uncanny kitsch of a Napoleon Dynamite character.

Each one is hand-knitted over a period of approximately 60 hours or more by the founder and leader of One Nation, Senator Pauline Hanson herself. These distinct jumpers/cardigan are a treasure to behold. Picture the pride of showcasing a one-of-a-kind Pauline Hanson jumpers/cardigan that is truly unique!

Picture it!

We reported this morning on One Nation’s wholehearted embrace of former candidate Torin O’Brien after he formed vigilante groups in Rockhampton to surround a house they thought belonged to two Indigenous people they alleged had committed a crime. O’Brien is reportedly the former leader of the defunct white nationalist group Patriots Defence League, and PHON is helping him set up “local action groups” to “tackle the crime wave”.

So that’s fun, and another indicator, if any were needed, that decades hence merch like this will end up on the walls of that uncle who’s weirdly fixated on very specific bits of history.
