Former midfielder Paul Scholes has accused Manchester United's players of not "wanting to put a shift in for the club" following their 1-1 draw with Southampton at Old Trafford on Saturday lunchtime.
Despite taking a 21st-minute lead through Jadon Sancho's second goal in as many home games, United, for the third game running, were pegged back in the second half.
Just as Burnley did at Turf Moor on Tuesday evening, Southampton equalised within minutes of the restart, drawing level through striker Che Adams.
United, despite creating a fair amount of chances in the opening 45 minutes, retreated more and more in the second half and it was Ralph Hasenhuttl's side that enjoyed the better of the opportunities as they went in pursuit of a winner.
Having produced another Jekyll and Hyde performance, Scholes hit out at United's players following the full-time whistle, criticising their attitude.
"These Manchester United players do not want to go the ugly side of the game," Scholes told BT Sport. "You watch the game and it is glaringly obvious that the players do not want to put a shift in for this club, which is crazy really.
"You see this Southampton team and they play the positions brilliantly. I thought the two centre-forwards were a real handful and played together.
"We spoke about partnerships before the game and Southampton had them all over the pitch. United didn't have one."
Scholes also questioned United's decision to install Ralf Rangnick as their interim manager, pointing to the difference in how well drilled the Reds were in comparison to Southampton.
The former Reds star added: "One team has got a proper coach, the other team have got a sporting director, which can't be right for Manchester United."
