Paul Scholes responds to Erik ten Hag's five new Manchester United rules

New Manchester United manager has established a number of new rules to be given to all players of the club during their time under his new regime, with club legend Paul Scholes hilariously responding.

Erik Ten Hag is now in his second week of pre-season training ahead of a tour of Thailand and Australia. It's a good opportunity for the team to bond under the 52-year-old's management - as he begins to create a new culture at the club.

As part of that culture, will be the following rules, according to The Mirror. The new boss has made players aware that they will be dropped if they are late for training or team meetings - without any exceptions - with reputations counting for nothing.

The team will not be allowed to drink alcohol during game weeks, in order to ensure that they will be at their maximum conditioning level during the busy campaign.

This will be tested by each player have a monthly BMI check-up, as well as having a custom-made diet plan drawn up whilst having the same chefs preparing meals for United's players, rather than them employing their own personal catering staff to cook for them.

The food menu at Carrington is also reported to have been altered, with fish and vegetables featuring more prominently than before.

Despite his tough stance on many issues, Ten Hag has also told his players to come and see him if they have any problems, rather than going to their agents.

The new boss is clearly attempting to establish his own mark at the club, one which should impress fans and Paul Scholes issued a short but sharp verdict on the 'new rules'.

He joked on his Instagram page: “Not sure I would’ve coped without my personal chef and no agent to moan to."

Yesterday, former United teammate and club legend Rio Ferdinand had stated that he was hearing good things about training under the new boss.

United jet off to Thailand on Friday to take on Liverpool in Bangkok before travelling to Australia later this month.
