Paul Pogba's documentary rated worst show on IMDb with 1 out of 10 score

A newly-released documentary on former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has been ranked as the worst show on IMDb with a rating of one out of ten.

The programme, titled 'The Pogmentary', was released on the streaming platform last week and has been widely slated by those who have viewed it. Manchester United confirmed Pogba's departure at the end of his contract last month and he is now set to return to Juventus as a free agent.

The new documentary shows an insight into Pogba's personal and professional life, commencing at the end of the 2020/21 campaign – a year prior to its release. It is primarily focused on the midfielder mulling over a decision on his future as his contract at Old Trafford ticked into its final 12 months.

However, it is unlikely to make Pogba either more popular or relatable among United's fanbase. In one particularly revealing scene, the midfielder accuses United of offering him "nothing" in their attempt to keep him at Old Trafford, despite the deal on the table being in excess of his existing £290,000-a-week deal.

Prior to the release of the documentary, which has left viewers and football fans perplexed, the lowest-rated programme on IMDb was the Turkish musical series 'Iste Bu Benim Masalim', which scored just 1.2 out of ten. That has now been surpassed by viewers giving a comprehensive thumbs down to Pogba's promotional venture, which scores just one out of ten.

The relationship between Pogba and United's fanbase had already been damaged irreparably as he leaves the club without agreeing on a new deal for the second time. The Frenchman was booed off the pitch amid loud chants of "f*** off Pogba" in his final appearances at Old Trafford.

Chants of "You're not fit to wear the shirt" were directed from the United fans towards the team after they let their two-goal lead over the Premier League's basement side Norwich City slip, but it was the underperforming Pogba who bore the direct brunt of the frustration due to the standard of his performance.

The most memorable scene of the documentary comes as Pogba is speaking with his late agent, Mino Raiola, when the midfielder asks: "Did Manchester (United) make a second offer?" To which Raiola responded: "Yes. They absolutely want you to stay. For me, the offer doesn't reflect that."

Pogba, upon realising the terms of the offer, responded: "They're bluffing. How can you tell a player you absolutely want him and offer him nothing? Never seen that."

Pogba returned to United after four years at Juventus following a club-record £89million transfer in 2016. The midfielder went on to make 226 appearances and scored 39 goals during his second stint with the club – in a spell which was disrupted by losses of fitness and form.
