Paul Pogba defends Mino Raiola on Instagram after statement on Manchester United future

Paul Pogba has defended Mino Raiola over a report that claimed the Manchester United midfielder was considering severing ties with his agent.

The Bild head of football Christian Falk claimed Raiola was under pressure from Pogba, 27, to arrange a transfer next year otherwise the Frenchman was considering seeking representation elsewhere.

However, Raiola derided Bild on his Twitter and Instagram posts, congratulating them on becoming the 'champions of fake news'.

The post read: "Like always, the Bild doesn't disappoint! Amazing how fake news spread around." Pogba was tagged in Raiola's posts and commented on Instagram: "When you don't know you don't talk @bild."

Raiola's posts were sparked by Pogba breaking his silence on his agent's interview with Tuttosport on Monday, in which Raiola said Pogba's United career was 'over'.

Raiola told the Turin-based outlet Pogba was 'unhappy' and 'the best solution for all concerned is if he (Pogba) moves in the next window'.

Pogba is about to enter the last 18 months of his United contract and has no intention of extending it amid interest from Real Madrid and former club Juventus.

On Instagram, Pogba wrote: "I've always fought and will always fight for Manchester United, my team-mates and the fans. Bla bla is not important. The future is far, today is what matters and I am 1000 per cent involved!

"Always strong together... all has been clear between the club and myself and that will never change. When you don't know what's going on inside, don't talk. #SpeakTheTruthOrRemainSilent United #talktothehand."

Raiola became Pogba's representative in 2012 and was separately described as a 't--t' and a 's--tbag' by Sir Alex Ferguson.

Pogba is out of contract at United in June 2022.
