Former Liverpool star praises Garnacho

Argentina Under-20s manager and former Liverpool midfielder Javier Mascherano has waxed lyrical about United youngster Alejandro Garnacho, describing him as a "great player."

United youth star Garnacho is considered one of the most exciting talents emerging from club's academy. Signed from Atletico Madrid in October 2020, the Argentine enjoyed a stellar 2021/22 campaign, earning a senior debut for the club.

He stepped off the bench in the closing stages of United's 1-1 draw with Chelsea in April, before being given a second taste of Premier League football on the final day of the season against Crystal Palace, also via the bench. Many United fans are now keen to see him feature in Erik ten Hag's plans for the coming season.
