Arsenal ’s busy summer continues to heat up, with pre-season already underway. A 5-3 win over Nuremberg in Germany kicked things off, with a new signing finding the scoresheet twice.
That brace belonged to Gabriel Jesus, who is one of four players making their way to the Emirates this summer. Mikel Arteta has already spent roughly £80million in making these additions, but there could be plenty more to come.
football.london understands a defender and a midfielder could also join if some squad members are able to be moved on. Depth and quality in both areas could be key, given the struggles late in the campaign.

Midfield is a particular concern, with options limited there last season for Arteta. A number of players have been linked with a switch to the Emirates this summer, from Youri Tielemans to Lucas Paqueta.
However, the latest name in a shock twist is that of Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante. The Frenchman only has one-year remaining on his Stamford Bridge deal and football.london understands talks are yet to begin over a contract extension.
Should Arteta need any convincing of the ability of the 31-year-old, who has won eight trophies, then former Manchester United star Paul Pogba has told everyone why he is so valued. Speaking to BeinSports in 2021 about his compatriot, Pogba said: “He’s the most beloved player in the history of football.
“You’ve got to love him, you cannot hate him, it is not possible. He is humble, kind, and professional. He will never complain, he will work. He’s got everything. He’s good technically, with good passing quality, and he’s everywhere on the pitch. I even say he appears out of the ground.
“You don’t see him, and – poof – he’s out! He gets the ball, he has the finish. He’s everywhere. To have a player like that by your side, what more can you ask for?”
Kante could be a huge addition to the Gunners, should he make the switch, but it remains to be seen whether that is a plausible move or not.
