Paul Pogba accuses Manchester United of not caring about him

Paul Pogba accused Manchester United of not supporting him during his comeback from injury last year.

The midfielder is set to leave United this summer, with the club having already confirmed he will officially depart when his contract expires at the end of the month. Pogba is expected to rejoin Juventus.

The 29-year-old’s exit has been on the cards for some time. Pogba was linked with a move away from Old Trafford at various points in his second spell with United, although he ended up running down his contract and will leave for free.

The possibility of a transfer was discussed with Pogba though. In his new Amazon Prime documentary ‘The Pogmentary’, the midfielder is seen speaking with his late agent Mino Raiola and his lawyer Rafaela Pimenta during the summer of 2021 as he neared the final year of his contract at United.

While discussing his options, Pogba is asked by Pimenta what would make him happier. The France international then proceeds to hit out at United, accusing the club of not caring about him during his injury problems.

“What makes me happy? To be in the project that I’m involved,” Pogba said. “Here, I had to do something. I came back from injury, they didn’t help me. They didn’t show care, they didn’t care how I was feeling, so I had to go to the national team to get my confidence back.”

Pogba added: “It’s all for the players. They have to feel important in their clubs, and they have to feel important in their teams. If you don’t have that, it’s over.”
