Paul O’Grady’s friend shares how they were set to go on ‘new adventure’ in heartbreaking post

Following his tragic passing, people far and wide have been sharing their memories of comedian and broadcaster Paul O’Grady. He died at the age of 67 on March 28.

Among those who have been hit hard by Paul’s death is his friend and radio producer Malcolm Prince. On Sunday, May 7, Malcolm shared how things are ‘not the same’ without Paul.

Sharing a photo collage of the pair, he wrote: “It’s Sunday, it’s just gone 5pm, and it’s… #NotTheSameWithoutYOU (Had things been different, we would have started our new adventure today…)” He was referring to the upcoming show Paul was set to host on Boom Radio.

Upon posting Malcolm was met with several supportive messages. “I’m so sorry; whilst we are sad it must be so much harder for you,” one person replied.

A second commented: “miss @paulogrady84 so much, wish that he could have got to carry on broadcasting with @BoomRadioUK and carry on entertaining us in his unique and very funny way.” And a third wrote: “Oh to think that Sundays would have been like that. I was always hoping Boom would come to an arrangement.”

Lily Savage star Paul’s death was confirmed by his partner Andre Portasio. At the time he said in a statement: “It is with great sadness that I inform you that Paul has passed away unexpectedly but peacefully yesterday evening. We ask, at this difficult time, that whilst you celebrate his life you also respect our privacy as we come to terms with this loss.

“He will be greatly missed by his loved ones, friends, family, animals and all those who enjoyed his humour, wit and compassion. I know that he would want me to thank you for all the love you have shown him over the years.” For the latest TV and showbiz news sign up to our newsletter here.
