A fitting tribute has been planned for Paul O'Grady's funeral today.
The Merseyside icon will be laid to rest in a private service in Kent today after he died in his home last month aged 67. Paul was a renowned animal lover and was an ambassador of Battersea Dogs & Cats home, which featured in the ITV show For The Love of Dogs.
The charity have planned a special nod to thank Paul for his contributions as Thursday's private service will feature a guard of honour with dogs from Battersea Dogs & Cats Home and an appearance from the Salvation Army Band.

The Lily Savage star became an ambassador for the animal charity in 2012 and rehomed five dogs while filming his multiple award-winning ITV show. Following his death, Battersea set up a “tribute fund” which has raised more than £270,000 for the charity.
Paul's husband, Andrew Portasio, announced the presenter died at his home on March 28 "unexpectedly but peacefully". It was later confirmed the Birkenhead TV star died from sudden cardiac arrhythmia.
The British Heart Foundation describes sudden arrhythmic death syndrome - or SADS - as a person dying suddenly following a cardiac arrest where no obvious cause can be found. Before his death, Paul had spoken openly about his battles with heart disease and had suffered three heart attacks before the age of 65.
