Paul Mescal has been tipped to be the next James Bond after winning an Olivier Award.
Fresh from his Best Actor win at the Olivier Awards, Mescal has been added to the next James Bond market by bookmakers.
According to website Oddspedia, the Normal People star has entered the market with 33/1 odds to become Daniel Craig’s successor.

By no means the lead in the market, Mescal is however ahead of the likes of Michael Fassbender (40/1) and previous favourite Tom Hiddleston (50/1).
With fellow Irishman Cillian Murphy at 50/1, this makes Mescal the most likely Irishman to become the next Bond.
In December 2020, Mescal addressed speculation he could be in the running.
He said at the time: “No, I don’t, actually. I’m a huge Bond fan. I think it’s an incredible franchise.
“But it feels very, very far away from current circumstances.
“Would I play Bond? Yeah? I don’t know. If it ever came my way, we’d have a discussion about it. I don’t know.
“I don’t want to say yes or no. I am a massive fan, and will continue to be, regardless.”
