Paul Mescal’s mam Dearbhla has shared a positive update on her health after she was admitted to hospital for ongoing cancer treatment.
The mother-of-three was diagnosed with Multiple myeloma, a type of bone cancer last July. Dearbhla announced she was starting treatment shortly after her son Paul's Oscar nomination for the film Aftersun.
She has in recent weeks been sharing her journey with her followers on Instagram, and three weeks ago she was admitted to hospital for chemotherapy. On Monday, Dearbhla shared the good news that is finally on the way home to Maynooth after her stint in St James's Hospital.

In a post shared on Instagram which featured a compilation of pictures and clips of her family, Dearbhla said: "There is nothing more glorious and amazing than our bodies learning to heal and gifting us with new life. I have no fear, I know this body of mine is able, willing and wanting to live to my fullest.
"I will seek my joys from wherever I see, hear, feel them. I wish the most amazing life for each of us…to go to the edge and never fear the cliff…you are loved, you are held and you can do anything."
Dearbhla said that she will take this next stage in her journey slowly. "I am in no rush.
"I am filled with joy, grace and love and if truly honest I am at one with this amazing body of mine and all she has done, given life, survived operations and will now daily fight my cancer.”
The Kildare mum also thanked the staff at St James's Hospital, saying that the the Burkitt Ward "will forever be in my heart". Dearbhla and her husband Paul recently joined their son Paul at the 94th Academy Awards in LA where he was nominated for a Best Actor gong for his role in the drama Aftersun.
Dearbhla's followers flocked to Instagram to wish her well and praised her positive outlook on life.
One person commented: "So happy you’re going home! Spend time with your family and relax and recuperate."
A second added: "Delighted to hear that you are home again. As the saying goes “Níl aon tinteán mar do thinteán féin” … (there’s no fireplace/ home like your own.”
A third said: "Great news Dearbhla. Wishing you well in your recovery."
