Paul Mescal and Cillian Murphy have been tipped as the next James Bond
A poll by Party Casino reveals out of 1,000 surveyed, 5.20% would like to see Cork star Cillian be given a licence to kill.
A further 2.40% said they would like to see Kildare native Mescal as the next star of the franchise.
When asked which of the 17 male actors presented they would prefer to see as the new lead star, Tom Hardy got the most votes with 12.40%, followed by Henry Cavill at 11.80%, Richard Madden at 8.90%, Tom Holland 8.40% and James Norton at 8.00%.

Cillian has been linked with the role for some time, particularly in light of his dazzlingly epic performances as Tommy Shelby in Peaky Blinders. His menacingly cool portrayal of Shelby proves he's got more than what it takes to be a fabulous Bond.
In December 2020, Mescal addressed speculation he could be in the running.
He said at the time: “No, I don’t, actually. I’m a huge Bond fan. I think it’s an incredible franchise.
“But it feels very, very far away from current circumstances.
“Would I play Bond? Yeah? I don’t know. If it ever came my way, we’d have a discussion about it. I don’t know.
“I don’t want to say yes or no. I am a massive fan, and will continue to be, regardless.”
The survey also presented 16 female actresses to vote for, Emily Blunt took the first place with 16.10% of the votes, followed by Jodie Comer at 14.50%, Emilia Clarke at 9.30% and Rachel Weisz at 9.00%.
When asked how important it is that the actor will be British, 52.9% responded that they would prefer a British actor, but that the right actor is more important.
A further 36.3% responded that they want James Bond to be portrayed by a British actor and 10.8% responded that it is not important at all.
When asked if the British accent is essential for the lead role, the results were similar with a marginally higher vote to “I want 007 to have a British accent”, at 38.9%.
