Paul Merson has told Liverpool they should target West Ham United winger Jarrod Bowen this summer to add to their attacking depth ahead of next season.
Liverpool have already made one forward signing in Fulham's Fabio Carvalho and they are also in talks with Benfica over Darwin Nunez, the 22-year-old striker who could end up costing a club record fee.
But the Reds could be set to lose Sadio Mane, who is keen on joining Bayern Munich, who have already had two bids rejected. Nunez would not be seen as a like-for-like replacement, though, with the Uruguayan being more of a centre-forward, whereas Mane has operated from all three positions up front in Jurgen Klopp's formation.

Liverpool have already seen Divock Origi leave the club while Takumi Minamino could be another attacker set to depart.
And Sky Sports pundit Merson has told the Reds to consider new England international Bowen as an option for their frontline if Klopp makes further additions.
The 25-year-old, who made his debut for the Three Lions earlier this month, had a mightily impressive season last time out, scoring 18 goals and adding 11 assists for West Ham as they narrowly missed out on a Europa League spot.
And Arsenal legend Merson, in his column for SportsKeeda, wrote: "He reminds me of a forward version of James Milner – reliable, honest and works his socks off for the team. He’s been linked with a move to Liverpool.
"I think he’d be a great squad player for them. He won’t go in there and take someone’s spot immediately, but Liverpool play a lot of games and their brand of football is intense, so he’ll have plenty of game time under his belt."
Bowen signed for West Ham from Hull City in January 2020 for £20million and has gone on to improve year-on-year.
