Paul Merson and Mark Lawrenson agree on what Liverpool will do to Man City this weekend

Paul Merson has predicted Liverpool to close the gap to Manchester City at the top of the Premier League to three points with victory over West Ham.

The former Arsenal star believes Liverpool will beat the Champions League chasing Hammers 2-0 at Anfield.

City take on fierce rivals Manchester United on Sunday at the Etihad Stadium, but are without star defender Ruben Dias for up to six weeks.

Former Red Mark Lawrenson has also predicted Jurgen Klopp's will pick up all three points in their match with West Ham on Saturday.

“This is a massive football match. West Ham got a good result against Wolves in the Premier League, but Southampton knocked them out of the FA Cup," said Merson.

"Liverpool are rolling along and I don’t think there is a team out there that can prevent them from scoring.

"I think they’ll win and put major pressure on Manchester City as they prepare to take on Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium.”

Ex-Red Lawrenson also backed Liverpool for all three points: "I'm at this game and it will not be straightforward for Liverpool.

"They know how much of a handful West Ham are at their best after being beaten by them at London Stadium in November.

"The problem for the Hammers, however, is that they have to keep asking the same players to get them results, every week.

"As we've seen, Liverpool have got the squad now to rest players and still get the outcome they want."
