The singer/songwriter will perform tracks from throughout his career including classics from The Beautiful South and The Housemartins at this year's Mouth of the Tyne Festival, organised by North Tyneside Council. And he will be joined by a special guest singer who will be revealed soon.

Heaton is known for hits including Caravan of Love, Happy Hour and Song for Whoever. Tickets to see Paul Heaton and special guests on Saturday, July 8, go on sale at 9am this Friday at www.ticketmaster.co.uk and www.seetickets.com.

North Tyneside’s Elected Mayor, Dame Norma Redfearn DBE, said “We’re really happy to bring such a great artist back to the festival and I know there’ll be lots of people looking forward to seeing him this summer.”

Mouth of the Tyne Festival, supported by Capita and Port of Tyne, is now in its 17th year and features big outdoor concerts, a programme of free street entertainment, huge community parade and special intimate shows at Playhouse Whitley Bay.
