Paul Gascoigne reduced to tears by son Regan on Dancing On Ice after 'stunning' skate

Paul Gascoigne was live in the Dancing On Ice studio tonight to cheer his son Regan on.

The dancer is taking part in the ITV skating show, and his dad Gazza as well as Regan's sister Bianca were both there to cheer him on. Paul looked emotional as he clapped and cheered for his son after an amazing performance.

Regan danced to Singin' In The Rain, complete with the famous lamppost scene, and he scored an impressive 33.5 points out of 40 for the dance, which fans dubbed "stunning".

As the camera switched over to see Paul clapping his son, host Philip Schofield said: "Your dad was nearly in tears, he was loving it."

"Loving Regan he’s just adorable and and wonderful dancer skater #DancingOnIce," one wrote.

A second added: "Regan is amazing what a nice lad too #dancingonice," as a third penned: "Regan is the only challenger we’ve ever seen for Ray Quinn’s crown as the greatest ever skater #DancingOnIce."

"The dancer in me just loves watching Regan skate - his lines are so beautiful #DancingOnIce," a fourth wrote.

Regan is a trained dancer but the whole family know it will be a new level of fame for him after the ITV skating show.

"Just enjoy it," his dad said as he offered his advice, "When I came back from the World Cup, the amount of stuff that was thrown at us, and I just took it in my stride, you know? I tried not to let it bother us.

"I was lucky, though, because I had football to go to in the morning, so whatever publicity I got, I at least had a few hours with the guys in the morning."

He added: "If he does really well, he’s going to get it all thrown at him and he’s going to be on his own, he doesn’t have a team. That’s different. He’s got my full support. I’ll always be here for him. But my advice is just to enjoy it."

Paul previously joked he'd liked to see his son fall on the ice - but he knows his son would style it out rather than get embarrassed.

"I’d quite like to see him do a Gemma Collins and fall over! But he’d probably turn that into the worm dance or something, he’d style it out rather than be embarrassed, but it would be funny!" he added.

Regan joked back: "I’ll just laugh if that happens. I’ll just smile and get back up and carry on, it’s all you can do, right?"
