Paul Clement holds Hibs next manager talks as candidates reach double figures

Former Real Madrid and Chelsea assistant boss Paul Clement has been interviewed by Hibs as they step up their search for a new head coach.

Record Sport understands Easter Road hierarchy have met with a host of candidates with the number reaching double figures.

Hibs are on the search for their next boss after parting company with Shaun Maloney after only four months in charge.

Chief executive Ben Kensell and Ian Gordon, son of owner Ron, headed to London last week and have been meeting with an array of potential candidates.

Former PSV and Derby boss Philip Cocu is another who has met with Hibs but he remains unlikely to land the job.

The Dutchman has been out of work since leaving the Rams in 2020.

Clement is currently a coach at Everton amid a fight for survival as Frank Lampard's side teeter on the brink of relegation.

The 50-year-old has earned rave reviews for his work as a No.2, he became Carlo Ancelotti's trusted lieutenant at Chelsea, Paris Saint Germain, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.

Clement has previously been in charge of Derby County, Reading, Swansea and Cercle Brugge.

Roy Keane remains among the bookies favourites for the Easter Road vacancy with the Irishman understood to be mulling his next move.
