Paul Chuckle's sweet tribute to brother Barry eight months after shock death

Paul Chuckle shared a fond memory of his brother Barry, who died suddenly last August following a secret battle with bone cancer .

The remaining Chuckle Brother , 71, replied to a photo posted by actor John Challis - who famously played Boycie in Only Fools and Horses - of them filming a stint in ITV's Benidorm.

The legendary funnymen, real names Paul and Barry Elliot, had made a surprise appearance in the sitcom as magicians The Great Crostini and Co back in 2017.

Recalling their time on the series, which has since ended, Paul wrote: "Seems like yesterday mate. What a great time we had. Miss our kid."

The veteran ChuckleVision entertainers had worked alongside each other for decades, when it was announced that Barry, 73, had sadly passed away last summer.

It was revealed that he had been battling a year-long diagnosis of bone cancer which had spread to his lungs.

A grieving Paul spoke of his heartbreak at losing is beloved brother just a few months after his death.

He took some time off work in the wake of his passing, before returning back to panto going solo for the first time.

Barry had always said he'd go on working for as long as he could - and now Paul is taking up his mantle and appearing in his first pantomime this year as a solo performer.

"I've just got to carry on," Paul said.

"I mean, he did say to me towards the end that I should carry on as it were."

Paul will also be appearing in an Easter panto alongside Faye Tozer at the end of April.
