Pop legend Paul Cattermole once had a romance with S Club bandmate Hannah Spearritt - with the pair ending up becoming incredibly close friends.
Tragically, it's been revealed today that Paul died at the age of 46, just weeks after the band shared their plans for a reunion tour.
The singer has been found dead at his home in Dorset aged 46 and there are thought to be "no suspicious circumstances" around his death.
Tributes have come flooding in, including from close pal Hannah, is said to 'absolutely devastated'.
A source close to her said: "Hannah is inconsolable. This came as a massive shock, and she is struggling to believe he is no longer with us."
"Just as they rekindled their friendship, the worst happened. The band are all in pieces."
Paul and Hannah first got together in 2001 - staying in a relationship for five years before splitting.
They first kept their romance private with Paul later revealing he would sneak to and from Hannah's house in the early hours of the morning
Back in 2015, Paul and Hannah rekindled their romance when the band got back together for a tour.
But it didn't last for long and Hannah got back with personal trainer Adam Thomas.
Before he died, Paul and Hannah made amends and were back being close friends ahead of their reunion tour.
A source told The Mail: "Hannah and Paul met in January to resolve their issues following years of disputes.
"They have sorted out their differences and are even on good terms now for the first time since they can remember.
"The whole group are doing the reunion tour and it was important for them to move forward so no one felt awkward.
"Everyone wants this to be a time for all involved to relive the magic and make great memories."
Hannah is said to have "broke down" when she was given the shocking news that Paul had sadly passed away.
A statement from the band reads: "We are truly devastated by the passing of our brother Paul. There are no words to describe the deep sadness and loss we all feel. We were so lucky to have had him in our lives and are thankful for the amazing memories we have.
"He will be so deeply missed by each and every one of us. We ask that you respect the privacy of his family and of the band at this time."
A statement from his family reads: "It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved son and brother Paul Cattermole.
"Paul was found yesterday, 6th April 2023 at his home in Dorset and was pronounced dead later that afternoon.
"While the cause of death is currently unknown, Dorset Police has confirmed that there were no suspicious circumstances. Paul's family, friends and fellow members of S Club request privacy at this time."
