Paul Cattermole death investigation ended by police after cause established

Police have confirmed that they have ended their investigation into Paul Cattermole's death, following the S Club 7 star's passing last month.

Paul, 46, was found unresponsive at his Dorset home in April, with his family and S Club 7 bandmates confirming his death in a series of emotional statements.

The group posted a video on Instagram at the weekend to share their memories of Paul and how tough it had been to come to terms with him not being around, with them also revealing that band member and Paul's ex, Hannah Spearitt, had decided that she would no longer be doing the S Club 7 reunion tour later this year.

Days later, it was announced that Paul died from natural causes, with Dorset Coroners Service adding no inquest into the singer's death will take place.

And on Friday, Dorser Police released a statement saying that they would be taking no further action, with a police spokesperson telling The Mirror: "Following on from your enquiry on this yesterday, we can now confirm that following further liaison with the Coroner’s Office, it has been confirmed that no further police assistance is required and our enquiries have concluded."

In their statement in response to Paul's death, his heartbroken S Club 7 bandmates said: "We are truly devastated by the passing of our brother Paul. There are no words to describe the deep sadness and loss we all feel. We were so lucky to have had him in our lives and are thankful for the amazing memories we have."
