Paul Burrell's I'm A Celebrity feud rumbled by irate ITV viewers after 'secret' conversation

Paul Burrell has been 'rumbled' by I'm A Celebrity viewers over an apparent plot to try and overthrow Joe Swash as leader of the Green Pride in the new All Stars series, with fans also sure he has a real issue with the former EastEnders star.

And it all stemmed from a rather bizarre conversation the former royal butler had with Fatima Whitbread right at the end of Wednesday night's show.

There was a big surprise for the campmates midway through the latest episode of the ITV programme, when having both taken part in a particularly disgusting drinking trial, Joe and fellow EastEnders icon Dean Gaffney walked onto the I'm A Celebrity set as the latest new arrivals and were then installed as leader of the newly formed Prides - with Joe in charge of Green and Dean doing the honours for Yellow.

There was disappointment for Joe when two of his number, Fatima and Georgia Toffolo, lost out on a picnic for the Pride, after they lost out to beat Myleene Klass and Jordan Banjo in a Snakes and Ladders challenge.

And it was Fatima who Paul spoke out to in the dead of night, taking aim at Joe and saying that Olympian Fatima should be the leader. During the conversation, had out of ear shot from everyone else, Paul said: "I want Alexander the Great to fight for us. I don't want Joe the Baker to fight for us."

He continued: "But you have to step up and save the day Fatima Whitbread," before the scene cut to Paul in the Telegraph, saying: "Joe, you may be Pride leader, but all great leaders had a number two."

Cameras then went back to Paul and Faitma's in camp, with Paul adding: "I'd rather follow a 61-year-old gladiator into the field than fight with a 35 year old novice."

As well as catching viewers at home off guard with his weird speech, Paul also came under fire for being harsh on Joe, as fans were convinced he was plotting a coup. One tweeted: "Is @PaulBurrell_RVM planning a little revolution?," with a second reacting: "is such a fucking snake and let's be honest not ONE of us is even a little bit surprised."

Hitting out at Paul's attitude towards Joe, a third commented: "what is paul burrell’s beef with joe swash?"
