Patriots WR Kendrick Bourne makes pitch to Super Bowl MVP

New England Patriots wide receiver Kendrick Bourne put on his recruiting hat on Tuesday, as he tweeted at Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp to come to the Patriots.

The former Super Bowl MVP is coming off a season that saw him record 67 catches for 710 yards and six touchdowns. There’s a connection between Bourne and Kupp with the two forming a two-headed monster at Eastern Washington University.

Bourne was a complementary receiver to Kupp, catching 204 passes for 3,013 yards and 25 touchdowns in his three seasons with the program. They reached the national semifinals in 2016 and finished with only two losses.

Could a reunion be on the way? Bourne had an enticing offer for his former teammate.

The Patriots will have a lot of work to do in free agency. It’s possible that Kupp could be on the radar, as the organization looks for continued receiving threats.

He is currently under contract with the Rams, but he could be on the trade block in the offseason.
