Cornerback Marco Wilson has officially been ruled out for the New England Patriots’ Thursday night matchup with the New York Jets. However, injured offensive tackle Mike Onwenu has been cleared to play.
The Patriots head on the road for the second time this season for an AFC East divisional clash with the Jets. Onwenu popping up on the injury report was a major concern for the team with the offensive line currently on life support.
The unit allowed three sacks and eight quarterback hits on Jacoby Brissett last week against the Seattle Seahawks. They’ll face an even stiffer test against a talented Jets defense with a powerful front.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Patriots made Wilson a healthy scratch. The veteran defensive back has drawn a crucial pass interference penalty in back-to-back games, and the team could be looking at other options.

Vederian Lowe being out could mean top reps for rookie Caedan Wallace at left tackle for the Patriots. That position has been a trouble spot for the team in the first two games, and the Jets will surely test the rookie when he’s on the field.
