The Patriots are waiving cornerback Jack Jones, his agent told NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.
The team has been trending toward this decision in recent weeks, per ESPN’s Mike Reiss. Jones hasn’t been engaged on the sideline with teammates early in games, sitting on the bench instead. He also missed curfew the night before the Patriots’ Week 9 game against Washington.
“Certainly we want to thank the Patriots organization for drafting Jack,” Jones’s agent Jamal Tooson said in a statement. “Jack is an immense talent and looks forward to making an immediate contribution on his next team as soon as Sunday.”
Jones played just 10 snaps during Sunday’s 10-6 loss to Indianapolis in Stuttgart, Germany, and has 12 tackles in five games this season. New England selected Jones in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL draft out of Arizona State. During his rookie year, he tallied 30 tackles in 13 games, only starting in two of them.
