Patriots vs. Chargers inactives: Ben Brown OUT, Cole Strange IN

The New England Patriots’ offensive line could undergo some significant changes in Saturday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Center Ben Brown is officially inactive due to a concussion, which opens the door for former first-round draft pick Cole Strange to get his first start at center for the team. Lecitus Smith is the other option on the roster for the Patriots.

Strange stepping into the role is intriguing considering the team is still searching for long-term stability at the position behind injured team captain David Andrews.

Rookie tackle Caedan Wallace is also officially active for Saturday’s game. The team had big plans for the former Penn State standout when using a third-round draft pick on him, but he was placed on injured reserve after the Week 4 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers.

Here’s the full list of inactives for the Patriots and Chargers’ Week 17 game:

The Patriots could end a five-game losing streak and match their win total from last season with a victory over the Chargers. However, a loss would keep them in the hunt for one of the top-two picks in the 2025 NFL draft.
