New England Patriots safety Jabrill Peppers has fortunately avoided a finger injury, ahead of Sunday’s game against the New York Giants.
He was seen with a large wrap and ice over his hand when doing interviews after practice on Tuesday. After speaking with media members, he underwent x-rays for the injury, which reportedly came back clean, per the Boston Herald’s Andrew Callahan.
That’s great news for the Patriots considering Peppers has been one of their best defensive playmakers in a year where injuries have devastated the unit. He has been so good that he even earned team MVP honors in our midseason awards.
Things obviously haven’t gone as expected for the Patriots this season, but the defensive unit has somehow remained a beacon of hope for the team. Not having Peppers on the field, even if only for a little while, might have been a tipping point.
