Patriots rule out leading receiver and starting OT for Cardinals game

The New England Patriots will be shorthanded for their game on Monday against the Arizona Cardinals. The team officially ruled out wide receiver Jakobi Meyers, cornerback Jalen Mills and offensive tackle Isaiah Wynn.

Offensive tackle Trent Brown and Yodny Cajuste are listed as questionable to play in the game.

Brown is dealing with an illness, and Cajuste is dealing with calf and back injuries, per a report from Patriots.com’s Evan Lazar. The loss of those three in particular is difficult for the organization.

Meyers is the team’s top receiver and has been a key piece in getting New England’s offense moving. Wynn has struggled this season on the line, but not having him will only make things worse for an offensive front that is underperforming. Mills has 31 tackles and two interceptions on the season.

New England may have to rely heavily on the rushing attack against a Cardinals team that’s ranked 11th in the league with 110.8 rushing yards allowed per game.

Some good, old-fashioned ground-and-pound could lead the Patriots to the Promised Land in what should be a tough road trip in the desert.
