New England Patriots rookie wide receiver Ja’Lynn Polk is keeping receipts from anyone writing off the wide receivers before the season even begins.
He had strong words for doubters at the end of Thursday’s training camp practice.
“If you’re not with us right now, when it’s all said and done, don’t get on the train,” Polk told reporters.
There hasn’t been a lot of optimism surrounding the unit, even with the arrivals of Polk, Javon Baker and K.J. Osborn. Some still view the Patriots as being an offensive disaster waiting to happen with one of the worst receiver rooms in the NFL.
The unit was ranked dead last out of 32 teams in ESPN’s Mike Clay’s 2024 projections.
Ja’Lynn Polk said he’s keeping notes on the people doubting the Patriots’ receiving corps. Called it “motivation.”

It’s easy to understand the perception considering the unit was ranked amongst the worst in the 2023 season. And although Polk and Baker have shown promise in training camp, both players are unproven at the NFL level.
People don’t know what they don’t know. It’ll be up to Polk and the rest of the Patriots’ receivers to back up the talk on the football field.
