Patriots reportedly interviewed interim head coach for OC job

The New England Patriots interviewed Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Thomas Brown on Tuesday, per NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport.

Brown took the roles of offensive coordinator and interim head coach in 2024, following the mid-season firing of Matt Eberflus. He served in the head coaching role for the final five weeks of the season. The team went 1-4 under him during that abbreviated run.

Brown has extensive experience on the offensive side of the ball, including work as the offensive coordinator for the Carolina Panthers, as well as the tight ends coach, running backs coach and assistant head coach for the Los Angeles Rams.

Coach Mike Vrabel has made it clear that he’s going to be thorough in his search for assistant coaches. Brown’s long list of achievements and experience at the NFL level are undoubtedly major assets that should make him a desirable candidate.
