The New England Patriots have reportedly reached a multiple-year agreement to hire former Tennessee Titans coach Mike Vrabel for their vacant head coaching job.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the news on Sunday.
It didn’t take them long to land on Vrabel, who joined the team a week after former coach Jerod Mayo was fired. Along with Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, Vrabel was viewed as one of the top-two options available in the 2025 coaching cycle.
He’ll bring with him a wealth of experience and a winning coaching record. During his run with the Titans, he led the team to three consecutive playoff appearances.
In 2019, the team knocked off the Tom Brady-led Patriots in the postseason and advanced to the AFC Championship Game, where they were defeated by Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.
The question now is what the rest of the coaching staff looks like under Vrabel’s direction. Everything else remains in place just the way Mayo left it.
