Offensive guard Michael Jordan cleared waivers and signed with the New England Patriots practice squad, per a news release from the team on Friday.
The Patriots released Jordan earlier in the week after claiming guard Lester Cotton off waivers. They are clearly looking to shake things up along the offensive front after getting blown out by the Miami Dolphins in South Beach last week.
Cotton is a fresh body for the team to work with while they wait for Cole Strange’s eventual return.
Meanwhile, Jordan started in 11 games for the team and played in on 96 percent of the offensive snaps. The team didn’t get the desired production level from the veteran offensive lineman when playing musical chairs along the offensive front.
But they liked him well enough to bring him back on the practice squad and continue to work on his development. In a corresponding move, the Patriots also announced the release of offensive tackle Jalen McKenzie to make room for Jordan on the practice squad.
