The New England Patriots got some positive news on the offensive line on Friday.
Patriots coach Jerod Mayo indicated that guard Sidy Sow has responded well in his return to practice, and he is officially listed as questionable to play in Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers.
Sow was banged up in the preseason finale against the Washington Commanders back in August. Now, it looks as though he might have a shot at making his regular-season debut.
Mayo also offered a note on left tackle Demontrey Jacobs, who is a newer addition to the team after being released by the Denver Broncos at the end of August. He had a strong review of the tackle on Friday.
“Big man [6-6, 315]. Very coachable. Does a good job throwing his hands,” said Maye, via ESPN’s Mike Reiss. “Are there things to work on? 100 percent. But his mentality and attitude has been great. Been getting better every single day.”

The offensive line is undoubtedly a work in progress.
Nevertheless, the possible return of Sow could be a major development. He played well last season, particularly in run-blocking. Right now, the Patriots need any form of stability on the offensive line, and it looks like reinforcements are on the way.
