Patriots top wide receiver Kendrick Bourne will miss the rest of the season with a torn right ACL, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo. He suffered the injury in the beginning of the fourth quarter against the Dolphins on Sunday when he was tackled by cornerback Eli Apple.
Before his injury, Bourne caught his fourth touchdown of the year and finished the game with three catches for 36 yards in the eventual 31–17 loss. Bourne currently leads all New England wideouts in catches (37) and receiving yards (406) as well.
Bourne, 28, was on his way to a career year for the Patriots but now the struggling offense will have to go on without the talented speedster. He’s expected to miss six to eight months with rehab and recovery, per ESPN’s Mike Reiss. He’s expected to become an unrestricted free agent in 2024.
Next, the Patriots (2–6) will host the Commanders (3–5) on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET on Fox.
