New England Patriots kicker Joey Slye was hit with a drug test on Monday. This comes less than 24 hours after he made a 63-yard field goal against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.
The field goal was the fourth-longest in NFL history and the longest in Patriots franchise history.
Slye has provided stability at the kicking position for the Patriots this season. He has made 8-of-9 field goals and all four of his extra points. He has tallied 28 points in total, including the booming field goal that cut into the 49ers lead at halftime.
Now, it seems like the NFL wants to make sure everything is proper.

Slye was one of the bright spots in what was a dismal day for the Patriots. The team fell 30-13 on the road for their third straight loss.
However, Slye did his part to help put points on the board, and the team will lean on him to continue doing so in the future.
