The New England Patriots continue to clear up cap space this offseason.
The Patriots and defensive end Henry Anderson have come to agreement on a reworked contract, giving him a base salary of $1.25 million in 2022. Anderson’s original contract was $2.5 million and it gives the Patriots $1.25 million to work with this offseason.
There are incentives that could get Anderson back up to $2.5 million, but they won’t count against the cap just yet. If he were to hit the incentives, they would go against the cap in 2023. He originally signed with the Patriots on a two-year, $7 million deal last offseason. He then suffered a pectoral injury in Week 4 and missed the remainder of the year.

New England made other moves by releasing Kyle Van Noy and trading Shaq Mason in order to clear up cap space. A lot of the money has went to re-signing free agents and keeping the veteran leadership on the team.
