New England Patriots defensive tackle Davon Godchaux noticed something different about New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers during the Patriots’ 25-22 upset win on Sunday.
The defensive tackle noticed that the legendary quarterback was not moving the same as usual.
All told, Rodgers still had a solid game under center. He went 17-of-28 passing on the afternoon for 233 yards and two touchdowns. Nevertheless, New England made the Jets’ offense work for every point, and they were able to get pressure on the quarterback a few times.
Godchaux had three tackles in that matchup, and he played a big part in helping contain the Jets’ run game. He also noticed Rodgers didn’t seem like himself in terms of mobility, as transcribed by MassLive’s Mark Daniels.
“Hall of Fame quarterback,” said Godchaux. “Hate to see him go out that way… He definitely don’t look the same. He kept moving back there – [expletive] I could run him down and catch him. He don’t look mobile at all. That’s good for us.”

The Patriots picked up their second win of the season on Sunday, thanks to some late-game heroics and consistent defensive pressure. One has to wonder if this game will be a springboard for the rest of the season.
