Patriots’ Desperate Final Play vs. Dolphins had Cris Collinsworth Making So Many Noises

The New England Patriots tried their best to rally back against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday night, but they eventually fell short and dropped to 0-2 on the season with a 24-17 loss to their AFC East rivals

The Patriots’ final offensive play of the game was a wild one, which came with an equally wild call by NBC’s Cris Collinsworth. On fourth down, quarterback Mac Jones completed a pass to tight end Mike Gesicki. He got wrapped up just short of the first-down marker and lateraled the ball to an offensive lineman, who then tried his best to get a first down.

The play was reviewed, and guard Cole Strange was ruled short of the line to gain, which gave the ball, and the game, to the Dolphins.

Collinsworth’s reaction sure was something:

The Dolphins are now 2-0 after road wins over the Chargers and Patriots to start their season. Miami plays host to the Broncos (0-2) next Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
