Irony was on fully display for the sports world when a month-old tweet from Patriots defensive back Jack Jones resurfaced, featuring sharp criticism of Grizzlies star Ja Morant’s behavior regarding firearms. Jones was arrested Friday after two guns were found in his carry-on baggage at a security checkpoint at Boston’s Logan Airport.
Morant is in trouble yet again for flashing a handgun during an Instagram Live video for the second time and is currently facing a 25-game suspension to start the 2023–24 season. Jones’s tweet from May 15 was posted shortly after the Grizzlies suspended Morant indefinitely after the second such incident.

Jones is facing charges including unlawful possession of a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm, possession of a large-capacity feeding device and possession of ammunition without a firearm identification card, police said.
