Another one bites the dust for the New England Patriots’ 2022 draft class.
NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported on Monday that the Patriots are waiving cornerback Jack Jones. The news was confirmed through Jones’ agent.
It’s a surprising move following back-to-back weeks of Jones being benched by the team. An initial report claimed the former fourth-round draft pick was benched for performance issues and missing curfew.
Jones also went on social media and liked a tweet that seemingly likened his current situation in New England to being worse than potential jail time. It was an imploding situation that has gone completely off the rails after Jones was benched in back-to-back games. He was only in on 10 snaps of Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts.

No one can deny Jones’ potential as a defensive player, but the other concerns became too much for the Patriots to deal with at this point. With the team sitting at 2-8 and dead last in the AFC, quite frankly, they already have enough on their plate.
