Patriots Agree to Three-Year Deal With WR Kendrick Bourne, per Report

The New England Patriots parted ways with quarterback Mac Jones on Sunday, but they’ve reportedly locked down a different member of the offense to a new deal.

Veteran wide receiver Kendrick Bourne has agreed to a three-year contract to remain in New England, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. The deal is worth $19.5 million and has a maximum value of $33 million, which includes a signing bonus of $4.2 million, according to Andrew Callahan of The Boston Herald

Bourne was sidelined for much of last season after sustaining a torn ACL in a Week 8 clash against the Miami Dolphins. He featured in eight games in 2023, catching 37 passes for 406 yards and four touchdowns.

The 28-year-old has been in New England since 2021 and will extend his stay through the ’26 season. In his three years with the Patriots, he’s caught 10 touchdowns across 41 games. He spent the first four years of his career with the San Francisco 49ers, who picked him up as an undrafted free agent out of Eastern Washington in 2017.

With a new quarterback set to take over in New England following Jones’s departure to the Jacksonville Jaguars, Bourne figures to be an important part of the offense in 2024.
