Patriotic Irish punters are piling cash on Katie Taylor to beat Amanda Serrano.
Ladbrokes report the support for the Bray boxer from punters has been 'incredible' in recent days as fight fans have the chance to back Taylor at odds against for the first time in her career.
Serrano is the current favourite to win at odds of 8/11, but 2012 Olympic champion has been attracting the weight of money at 5/4.
Nicola McGeady from Ladbrokes said: It’s not often we say this, but Katie Taylor is the underdog as she faces the biggest fight of her career against Serrano. The betting is very tight but the support we have seen for Taylor has been incredible. Patriotic punters are out in force.”
But Sporting Index believe Serrano will beat Taylor via stoppage in the eighth round.
Neville Burdock, Head of Trading at the firm, commented: “Taylor v Serrano looks to have all the makings of a classic, and we predict Amanda Serrano will stop the fight just before Round 9, with 17 minutes and 30 seconds on the clock.”
“The Puerto Rican fighter is favourite to win by KO, TKO, DQ or on Technical Decision at 7/2, but it would be foolish to write off Taylor and we make the unbeaten Bray Bomber 6/4 favourite to win on points.”
