Patrick Vieira believes Crystal Palace can reach the “next level” should the club prove able to sign the right profile of player this month.

The Frenchman has the Eagles sitting 11th in the Premier League table despite a relatively slow summer on the transfer front and a battle to qualify for the Europa Conference League is not out of the question.

Vieira’s side got back to winning ways with a routine win over Bournemouth following a dismal home defeat to London rivals Fulham on Boxing Day and are keen to strengthen during the transfer window.

Palace are interested in a move to bring Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka back to Selhurst Park, with an initial loan move seen as the most likely option.

Standard Sport, however, understands United are looking for guarantees the deal would be made permanent at the end of the season.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Vieira said: “We are in a really good place but I believe to go to the next level, a couple of players will be important for us.”
