Patrick Vieira disagrees with Gary Neville on major Arsenal prediction following Liverpool clash

Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira has named Arsenal as one of the teams that will fight for the Premier League title this season.

Mikel Arteta's side along with Manchester City are the only two teams in the league to win both of their opening two fixtures, with the Gunners defeating Palace 2-0 in last week's opener before securing a 4-2 victory over Leicester City at the weekend. On Monday night, Palace clinched a 1-1 draw against Liverpool at Anfield and Vieira admitted that he sees both the Reds and Arsenal as two teams that will be challenging for the title this term.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the Frenchman said: "When you look at the number of points [Palace have got], of course playing against two teams who are fighting to win the Premier League is always going to be challenging. But I'm more interested in the performances.

"I think today we showed character, we saw personality and we saw a lot of discipline that will help us to win football matches. And of course, the game against Arsenal overall, especially in the second half, was a good performance.

"So I believe that we are on the right path, we have to keep working well. We have players who can make the difference so we have to keep working like we did tonight."

This is contrary to what Manchester United legend Gary Neville has predicted, claiming that Tottenham Hotspur are the only team that could potentially challenge Liverpool or City. “I think Tottenham are the only club who could challenge, they won’t finish above Liverpool, but they could if somehow Liverpool wobble or get an injury to Virgil Van Dijk, then Tottenham could [challenge]", he told the Overlap YouTube channel.

"They are the only club who could potentially.”
