Patrick Reed PGA Tour Return: LIV Golf star open to coming back

Former Masters champion and current LIV Golf player Patrick Reed is willing to return to the PGA Tour if given the opportunity.

Patrick Reed’s Stance on Returning to the PGA Tour

Reed, who left the PGA Tour for the Saudi-backed LIV Golf league in 2022, is currently competing on the DP World Tour and has made it clear that he wants to play across multiple circuits.

While he remains banned from the PGA Tour, Reed is optimistic about the ongoing discussions between the PGA Tour and the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF), which could potentially lead to a more unified professional golf landscape.

Speaking at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, Reed said, “If they came up to me and said you’ve got a PGA Tour card and you can play on any tour, I wouldn’t be surprised if you saw me meet the minimum on every tour.”

Patrick Reed is Currently on the DP World Tour

Despite his PGA Tour suspension, Reed has managed to regain DP World Tour membership for 2025, which allows him to compete in European events.

He has emphasised his support for the European circuit, having previously participated in key events such as the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth.

Reed acknowledged that balancing multiple tours is challenging but believes in showing commitment to the events he values.

“There’s a reason why I flew over and played [at Wentworth]. It’s their flagship event. If you’re part of that tour, you should support them,” he stated.

Will Patrick Reed Return To The PGA Tour?

If Reed were to return to the PGA Tour, he would need to meet the tour’s requirement of playing at least 15 events per season.

This commitment could be difficult to manage alongside his LIV Golf schedule, which already demands significant playing time.

While Reed remains hopeful, there are also complications with him being on the DP World Tour, due to potential fines and suspensions related to his LIV affiliation.

“Fines and suspensions are the biggest things,” he admitted. “I hope that they allow me to come over and play. My whole thing is to come over and play as much as I can.”

As discussions between the PGA Tour and PIF continue, the possibility of LIV Golf players like Reed returning remains uncertain.

However, his willingness to compete across multiple tours suggests he is keeping his options open.
