Patrick Queen blasted 49ers’ ‘cute’ playing style after Ravens beatdown

Baltimore Ravens linebacker Patrick Queen didn’t hold back when explaining why his team put the San Francisco 49ers in a blender on Monday night.

Baltimore’s startling 33-19 San Francisco takedown put this possible Super Bowl 58 preview in new lens, making the Ravens the clear favorites to win the Lombardi in February.

The vaunted Ravens defense picked off 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy four times (with Queen snagging one of those picks) and generally had the San Francisco offense in fits during the dominating performance.

The Ravens offense didn’t do too many favors for the 49ers, either.

When talking after the game about how the Ravens got this huge win so convincingly, Queen threw some major shade at the style of football the 49ers play and why it stands no chance against Baltimore’s bruising mentality.

“We play a brand of football that people don’t want to play,” Queen said. “Everybody want to be out here cute, playing basketball on grass and stuff, and we ain’t with all that. So, you can do all that stuff, but you’re going to get hit in the mouth every play, honestly.”

Queen said that his team doesn’t care about the “pretty” and “gimmick” stuff that teams like the 49ers have become known for, which should heighten the rivalry here for a possible rematch this winter in Las Vegas.

We’re betting San Francisco wants another chance at taking down Baltimore sooner than later. With the way this season has gone, it won’t shock us in the slightest if the 49ers get that exact opportunity at the end of the season.
