Patrick Mahomes has solidified his status as the premier quarterback in the NFL, as evidenced by a recent preseason survey conducted by The Associated Press. The three-time Super Bowl MVP was the unanimous choice for the No. 1 quarterback spot, highlighting his exceptional talent and leadership on the field.

A panel of eight AP Pro Football Writers participated in the survey, ranking the top five quarterbacks based on their current status entering the 2024 season. Mahomes emerged as the clear frontrunner, receiving first-place votes from all panelists.

Despite facing some challenges during the regular season, Mahomes showcased his prowess in the postseason, guiding the Kansas City Chiefs to a second consecutive Super Bowl victory and their third title in five seasons. His ability to elevate his performance in crucial moments has set him apart from his peers.

  2. Josh Allen: The Buffalo Bills quarterback secured the second spot in the rankings, demonstrating his skill and consistency despite playoff setbacks.
  3. Lamar Jackson: Jackson's exceptional regular-season performance earned him the third spot, although his postseason aspirations were cut short by Mahomes and the Chiefs.
  4. Joe Burrow: Despite injury setbacks, Burrow's talent and potential were recognized with a fourth-place ranking.
