Patrick Mahomes pleased with Chiefs’ performance after two-game skid

The Kansas City Chiefs bounced back from a two-game skid with a 27-17 win over the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusets.

In Kansas City’s postgame press conference after Sunday’s win, Patrick Mahomes explained the importance of getting back on track after the Chiefs’ recent struggles over the last few weeks and gave his take on the team’s looming matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 16.

“I mean there’s always pressure, but obviously [after] losing two games you have to play your best football,” Mahomes explained. “Losing three straight in this league, I mean, [it] really puts you in [a] tough spot and I thought the guys did a good job.

“That’s a really good defense. Offensively we scored points early. On defense, shut the door, kind of like they’ve been doing these last few weeks, but we have to continue to get better and we’re playing — the Raiders are playing great football coming up so we have to continue to learn and improve.”

Mahomes clearly isn’t taking Kansas City’s game against Las Vegas for granted and is aiming to earn the Chiefs their tenth win of their 2023 campaign against a Raiders team that is heating up as the season draws to a close.

Las Vegas is coming off a 63-21 thrashing of the Los Angeles Chargers last Thursday, which led to the firing of head coach Brandon Staley and general manager Tom Telesco.
